Hang On - Life Begins At 54!

I was always told that life began at 40, but it seems happiness now does not begin until you’re 54. I’m now three years into my life & happy! Fantastic. Wonder how long it lasts?

Over one million 40 to 54-year-olds are said to be unhappy with their lives and apparently, 11.5 per cent of the 8.5 million people in this age group are discontented. What a miserable lot.

However at 54, more Britons describe themselves as "happy" and "content" than "stressed" and "self-conscious" while 71 per cent of over 65s are content with their lot. I suppose they have avoided many of the last government’s disastrous financial policies as

According to The Independent, money worries are one of the the key concerns. Along with the prospect of later retirement, gloom factors for the under 54s include having to work longer to save for retirement, closure of final salary pension schemes plus soaring costs of parental care and children's education.

However, the research suggests that money worries are less important for happiness than many other factors. The next generation, 55-64, place emphasis on travel and nearly one in ten 55 to 64-year-olds (8 per cent) plan to go on a trip for three or more months sometime soon.

Many generations are gaining satisfaction in their lives from much more than just money. Providing there are no health problems, freedom from work & child rearing, loving partnerships or singledom can be enhanced, new friends made, travel, education, volunteering, gardening or whatever you enjoy can be pursued. When in their late 50s and early 60s, Brits are undertaking a raft of changes to make their lives richer, more colourful and - ultimately - happier.

New reports are now suggesting that Tiger Woods is settling down with a much older woman. Apparently Mr Woods has been spotted spending a lot of time with a former advertising executive who is in her mid-fifties. Even if it doesn’t last, they are probably both having great fun.

This might be just what Tiger needs right now. His ill-fated affairs behind his wife’s back are long behind him now. A source reported that he spends most of his nights watching films and giving back rubs to the new woman of his life. Sounds cosy! Maybe an 'age gap' relationship would suit you - try!

Of course, it comes as no shock that this woman has grabbed Tiger. In fact, another source said that this woman’s nickname in her office used to be “The Cougar.” The source continued on by saying that she only dates people that are young enough to be her son. So she and Tiger should be able to satisfy each other’s physical needs. However, watch out for ‘sources’. Nothing is safe when they are around!
